Rescue Mission on the Hærvejen!
I want to set the speed record on the Hærvejen and save a life along the way. Some people have undoubtedly started doubting my mental state, while others may just be a little skeptical. I’m giving myself a 50/50 chance of success – and 100 % certainty that I’ll face the hardest physical challenge of my life so far.
500+ km, a Record, and the Ultimate Goal
This summer I will cover the Hærvejen’s 510 km from Padborg to Hirtshals in my best running shoes. I will also try to complete the route in the fastest recorded time ever. Records attract attention, and this project needs a lot of attention to achieve its real goal: to save a life!
Hard ≠ Impossible
It will be hard for a 46‑year‑old amateur runner to move body, mind, and backpack across Jutland. But “hard” is not the same as “impossible,” and that’s exactly the point—I’m willing to push myself to the limit to prove it.
Because “hard” is, in that sense, relative. Yes, it’s incredibly hard to run two marathons a day for six days. If the spotlight truly hits, it can also quickly become hard to handle for an introverted runner like me. And we’ll all certainly find it hard to answer the question, “What is a life really worth?”
But I’m doing all of this voluntarily, and you don’t die from camera lenses or complex questions. I’m fairly sure a family in Malawi faces everyday situations that are far harder than my self‑imposed summer challenges.
I Really Need Your Help
Whether I break the record, bleed in my running shoes, or present myself as Denmark’s biggest… well, whatever, it will all be worth it if together we save a human life!
I hope you’ll join my small, big project. Even though the rules for my record attempt fall under the “self‑supported” category, I need all the help I can get to finish the rescue mission :)
